Ukrainian flutist Olha Stukalova has completed her Artist in Residence program at the prestigious

Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin in 2024, being coached by Emmanuel Pahud and Claudia

Stein. Since October 2025, she has been continuing her studies at the University of Music and

Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Univ. Prof. Walter Auer, Solo Flutist of the Vienna

Philharmonic Orchestra, at the same time being supported by The Pavel Kushnir Scholarship and

serving as a Substitute Flutist with the Tonkünstler-Orchestra. From 2026, she serves as Solo Flutist of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra under the direction of Keri-Lynn Wilson.

At the age of 22, Olha was appointed Principal Flutist of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra by its General

Music Director Luigi Gaggero. She held this position until August 2023, performing at internationally

renowned festivals such as the Grafenegg Festival and the Canary Islands Music Festival. In February

2024, she appeared as a soloist with the orchestra, performing Mozart’s Concerto in D major for

Flute at the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Olha began her musical journey in Kyiv, studying with Anna Kuzmenko before completing her

intermediate studies at the R. Gliere Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. Since 2019, she has received

flute and piccolo guidance from Leonid Grudin, Solo Piccolo of the Berlin State Opera, and continued

her education during a year at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she studied

with Univ. Prof. Matthieu Gauci-Ancelin.

In addition to her orchestral career, Olha is deeply engaged in chamber music. She is the co-founder

of the Mondestrunken Ensemble, dedicated to innovative symphonic arrangements, and has

appeared in chamber projects at various European venues. In 2023, she shared the stage with

Emmanuel Pahud at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, performing W.F.C. Bach’s Duet No. 4 in F major.

Olha has also performed with the Karajan Akademie of the Berlin Philharmonic, Deutsches

Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO Berlin), Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin and Hauptstadt

Symphonie Orchester, under conductors such as Wayne Marshall OBE, Vitali Alekseenok, Oscar

Jockel, Michael Balke, Raphael Haeger, Gordon Hamilton, and Thomas Hennig.

Her studies and projects have also been supported by the Yamaha Music Gulf FZE Scholarship, the

Kyiv City Administration, and the Michael Blatow Foundation.
